Privacy
airhome has no accounts, sets no cookies and writes nothing to your browser's storage. The one thing you give it that could be personal is an address, so most of this page is about that.
An address you type
- It is looked up with OpenStreetMap's Nominatim. Our server sends the text you typed to nominatim.openstreetmap.org, limited to Portugal. The request comes from our server, not your browser, so Nominatim does not see your IP address. Cloudflare may keep Nominatim's answer for up to a week so the same text is not sent twice.
- The text and its result are stored. We keep the text you typed (lower-cased), the coordinate Nominatim found, a short place name and the time, in a lookup cache in our database, so the same search is never sent to Nominatim again. Nothing links that row to you: no IP address, no device, no cookie. It is kept with no expiry.
- It is in the address of the result page. The page you land on is /a/<latitude>,<longitude>?q=<place name>, so the coordinate and the short place name are in your browser history and in anything you share that link with.
- Our hosting logs see it. The site runs on Cloudflare Workers with logging switched on. Each request's web address is kept in Cloudflare's logs for us for a few days (up to 7), with the country and network it came from. For a search that includes the text you typed, and for the result page the coordinate and place name. When a lookup fails, the text you typed is also written to those logs.
- Our analytics do not see it. The page counter records which kind of page was opened; for any address page it records only /a/, never the coordinate. That is done on our server before anything is passed on.
Counting visits
Pages load a small first-party counter (kstats, which we run ourselves at stats.kapps.dev). It records page views, how long a page was open, clicks on links and the screen size, and your browser, country and a daily anonymous visitor number that are worked out on our side. Your IP address is used to compute that number and is not stored. It uses no cookies and stores nothing on your device; each visit is a new session.
Feedback
If you use the feedback form, we keep your message, the kind you picked, the page it was about (for an address page, that includes the coordinate), your email if you give one, and your device type, such as “android/chrome”. It is stored in our own inbox, which only we read. Your email is used only to reply.
Who else sees your visit
- Cloudflare, which hosts the site and so handles every request.
- Google Fonts: your browser downloads the site's two typefaces from Google, which sees your IP address when it does.
- Nobody else. There is no advertising, no third-party tracker and nothing is sold.
Getting something removed
Write to hello@eyalev.com. A search you typed cannot be traced back to you, so tell us the exact text and we will delete it from the lookup cache.
